An inauspicious entrance just off Acre Lane brings you into one of the area’s most deservedly popular bars. On the site of a former tube station and flower market, the Langley has two large underground bars, a restaurant and two smaller booth areas. The bare bricks of the Hudson Bar are offset by the swirly decor of the Geneva Bar, and all in all create a sense of spaciousness favoured by a regular crowd of twenty- and thirtysomethings. A decent selection of cocktails, including some delicious fruity capirinhas, is averagely priced, as is the reasonable bar food menu. It’s particularly worth heading down for the 5-7pm happy hour, when £4 is knocked off a bottle of wine usually starting at £12.75 (red and white).
