London's best review, food and drink news
It might be the studied boho atmosphere and beach diner decor, or it might be the huge, something-for-everyone menus; either way, this Crouch End fixture is never short of a crowd. By day, the tables are packed with local kids and their trendy parents, some of whom come back later sans enfants. Eating is the main activity, and alcohol is only served with a minimum spend of £3.50 on food, but there are plenty of snacks to go with a drink. The tipples are as global as the music: beers such as Cruzcampo and Leffe on tap, or Mexican, Brazilian and Belgian offerings in bottles, Brazilian cachaça firewater, Cuban rum, juices and cocktails - to name just a few.
