London's best review, food and drink news
A refuge for the beer connoisseur deep in the remote (for many) territories of Harringay. The inventive products of Cambridge's Milton Brewery are the main 'residents', all with Greco-Roman names like Pegasus, Nero or Sparta; but you'll also find other small-brewery ales rare in London, like Jarrow or Slater's, and there's always good cider on tap too. There's a vast international range - Budvar on draught, and Polish, Belgian, German and others in bottles - and a great whisky line-up. There are no modern fripperies in the way of decor, or much food beyond a bit of hearty grub, but this is a friendly, cosy spot - a real local as well as a beer showcase.
