Still going strong, Market Place, just off Oxford Street, is packed with a loyal crowd who spill out on to the pedestrianised thoroughfare throughout the year, hungry for Spanish tapas, gourmet burgers, Latin street food and eclectic beats. The cool decor is all of natural materials – exposed bricks, stone and wood panelling. There’s a decent DJ line-up in the basement, with occasional bands. The energetic bar staff serve a selection of well-made cocktails using fresh fruit purées and spirits that include Don Fulano Reposado tequila and Green Mark vodka. There are bottled beers from all over Europe, as well as Amstel, Budvar and König Ludwig Hefe-Weizen on tap.
