Hive
Located above a restaurant, this chic, white-walled space isn’t the most popular watering hole in Brixton, but that only makes it better for those in the know. It’s usually easy to get a seat – even on a Friday night, when a smattering of pre-club thirtysomethings were rushing their way through the drinks list. The walls are lined with artworks for sale, there’s a disco ball casting coloured lights across the room, and the Motown-y soundtrack provided by end-of-the-week DJs creates a relaxed atmosphere. The emphasis is on cocktails and wine, not beer – there are no draught options, which is a shame.
