  • This landmark Georgian pub in the heart of Wimbledon village had most remnants of its past eradicated by an extensive makeover at the end of 2006. However, the current interior lends itself nicely to the smart set that drift in from the All England Lawn Tennis Club, just down the road. The main bar is full of elaborate lampshades, leather armchairs and potted plants, but it's the spacious adjoining restaurant that catches the eye with its lofty arches and chandeliers. There's decent entertainment on offer too, in the shape of a very popular Sunday quiz and boisterous Tuesday salsa classes. At the bar, the expected Young's ales are ably backed up by Erdinger, Leffe and Peroni.

Awful pub, awful decor, quiz nights should be on mondays. The food is average at best, had to send some back because it was still frozen in the middle. Wouldn't return
