London's best review, food and drink news
It's a rare thing to find a place that has the trappings of a gastropub and the down-to-earth humility of a local boozer - but this place just about pulls it off. The posh crowd happily rubs shoulders with hoi polloi, and tasteful lamps, decent food menu and fireside bookcase are undiminished by Sky Sports. Drinks reinforce the broad church feel, with Stella and Carlsberg alongside Leffe and quality ciders; there's also a good choice of bitters and wines. The back room serves good and reasonably priced food.
