Part gastropub, part bar and part giant outdoor smoking area, the Castlebar has tried to be all things to all men. And judging by its loyal local following it's doing well. The huge terrace indulges rather than persecutes those who like a puff. It is decked, heated and covered, the blaring music pumped out almost makes you forget you're looking at an insalubrious stretch of the Uxbridge Road. Sweet staff do table service as well as manning the large square bar. A mammoth drinks menu boasts 22 whiskies, 13 vodkas and 14 rums, a comprehensive cocktail list and Adnams Broadside and Best, Leffe and Hoegaarden on tap.
