London's best review, food and drink news
Depressed by the dominance of identikit chain pubs? Fed up with ubiquitous refurbishments? Want cod and chips not pan-fried sea bass with curly fries? Has it all gone too far? The Dog House is here to help. The faded paintwork, chipped woodwork, fireplace coated in candle wax, carpet-lined bar and badly hung pictures all help make this place a breath of fresh air. Board games in tatty boxes are piled up in one corner, and there's a good range of beer on tap, such as Bombardier and Black Sheep. It's cluttered, homely and, triumphantly, a bit of an odd shape.
