Part diner, part bar, but as adept at mixing cocktails as griddling burgers, the Eagle brings American standards of service and sustenance to Oxford Street shoppers and Fitzrovia night owls. The drinks menu features an Eagle Fizz of Grey Goose Le Citron, clementine, ginger and Mercier (£8.50); a Björk Punch (£6.95) of Reyka vodka, guava and lychee is inspired, as are the alcohol-charged Boogie Shakes (£7.50). Bottled beers include Anchor Steam and Brooklyn, with Bud on draught. During the day, most people are here for the food: of the burgers, Caledonian Crown (£6.95) with monterey jack, red salsa or jalapeños extras is a good bet, or you could try crocodile, bison, kangaroo, springbok or ostrich from the 'Something Wild' (£6.50) selection. Breakfasts are another strong suit.
