Chelsea Potter
Something of an anomaly in this neck of the woods, the Chelsea Potter is a lively, single-room boozer. It may not be as flash as the other bars on the King’s Road, but it’s a fine place to rest weary feet after a frantic morning traipsing the shops, or to drop by for a relaxed pint or two of an evening. High wooden tables (good for tourists to spread out their maps on) play host to more down-to-earth Chelsea folk; the cask ales are London Pride, Spitfire and Greene King IPA; and the good-value pub grub (‘posh bacon & eggs’) doesn’t try to overreach itself with unnecessary frills and furbelows. Stools by the window and tables out on the pavement provide the perfect vantage point for a spot of people-watching.
