Princess of Prussia
If it were located nearer the City, and not plopped in its current hinterland of faceless grey buildings, this fine pub would clean up. Then again, you wouldn’t find a spare spot in its comfortable front bar, spacious back room (decorated with images of London and various battle scenes, Sebastopol in particular) and back patio garden. But here you can find your readily-available table and choose your poison. It’s a Shepherd Neame pub, so draught Master Brew and Spitfire accompany Asahi, Holsten and Guinness. As in other SN pubs, wines are provided by Todd’s, with Pascal Clement Pouilly-Fuissé (£20) and Glen Carlos Tortoise Hill cabernet shiraz zinfandel (£14) among the 15 selections. Some are available by the glass – ask at the bar.
