Redchurch
A busy wee bar open till the busy wee hours. There’s a global choice of drinks: by the bottle there’s Brooklyn Lager, Boston Lager, Lindeboom, Samuel Adams, Anchor Steam, Coopers IPA, Orval and Goose Island IPA; on tap there’s Sierra Nevada pale ale and Maisel’s Weisse. Whiskies and tequilas are something of a speciality, with a sizeable selection of both. Unusual cocktails include New Orleans Milk Punch (buffalo trace bourbon, milk, cream, vanilla and nutmeg). The uncontrived decor encompasses retro neon-tube lighting and chrome swivel bar stools, and weeknights have an easy aural ambience of slouchy reggae. Weekends welcome funky grooves with DJs spinning funk, Latin, northern soul, hip hop, jazz and rock tracks. A fine late-night option.
