Part of an enterprise that includes a restaurant and a swanky club, Glass appears to lead something of a double life. When it's busy, this shiny, happy room is popular with the kind of cash-happy gents whose tie knots are bigger than your fist. And when it's quiet, it's a large and slightly sad room haunted by the ghosts of the party you've managed to miss. The cocktails are actually pretty decent, especially a black mamba made with Glenmorangie 10-year, blackberries and lime juice; but as we drank, the music lurched from '20s jazz via bangin' electro to Lenny Kravitz, trying desperately to create an atmosphere that had slipped out the door.
