  • The landmark Spice, towering beside a mess of building work that will eventually transform Cambridge Circus, has laudably reconnected with its past to provide a regular live music programme complemented by quality ales, decent wines and proper pub grub. The then Scots House hosted Bob Dylan and Paul Simon back in the day; now it's indie, jazz and BYO sax on Tuesdays. A McMullen ale (AK or Country), a Spy Valley sauvignon blanc or a Criadores Rioja, all well priced, may accompany your Moroccan roasted snapper with cumin (£9.95) or a beef 'Spice' burger (£6.95).
