London's best review, food and drink news
With faded-chic furniture and windows draped in swathes of fabric, Enterprise works the French bistro look well. Most of the diminutive floor space is taken up with diners, but there are a few places for late thirtysomething sophisticates to perch at the bar and admire their reflections in an impressive floor-to-ceiling mirror. The staff here are a cut above, and extremely knowledgeable about their vino. Choose from a list of 80 (mainly French) wines, including an amazing 2002 Château Senailhac Bordeaux (£6.50/£26), a decent 2006 Chablis Laroche (£7/£27) and seven sauvignon blancs. The continental approach extends to the draught beer, which is only available in half pints, while the food menu puts a Mediterranean spin on traditional British pub staples - a delicious slow braised beef served with parmesan pudding (£14.75), for example. Shame about the TV in the corner showing sports.
