  • Located just around the corner from the Royal Albert Hall, this annexe of the Gore Hotel draws an eclectic mix of concert-goers, businessmen and local Imperial College and Royal College of Music students. The heavy, mahogany-panelled walls and oil paintings of grand old dukes make for a comical backdrop to the Euro-dance soundtrack, DJ nights and hip young bartenders showing off their knowledge of the 53-strong cocktail menu (£9.50 upwards). Vodka lovers will be in heaven with 28 varieties to choose from, including six flavours of Stolichnaya (£6-£11); ditto whisky aficionados. A velvet-draped 'Cinderella's Carriage' alcove at the back can be hired by those seeking further inebriated pomp and circumstance.
