Stylishly informal, Hide has a laid-back sense of bonhomie that makes it difficult to leave - the fact that it's stuffed with soft furnishings and slump-back sofas doesn't help much either. Things are equally relaxed at the bar, but staff know their stuff. The drinks list is outstanding: meticulously prepared cocktails, beers from the Meantime Brewery in Greenwich, international bottled beers and a seemingly endless list of wines and spirits. Try to bag (better still, book) the carpeted chamber at the back of the bar where the black wallpaper and sunken ceiling lights tranquillise the mood even further.

Well, I might not be a knight but I think I'm fun to be around and bet that I can make you laugh. That's at least something no? I love travelling...

Pretentious and rude staff, unless of course you happened to be an attractive woman in which case they seemed very eager to 'help'
Richly deserves its place in London Bar Week: the best bar for several miles around. Very friendly, superb range of cocktails and spirits, and a pretty decent kitchen
nothing special. the bartenders seem to think otherwise.
