This may just be the coolest little pub in south-east London. The landlord has form, having run the equally bijou (and largely undiscovered) Smersh in Shoreditch and the famously debauched Islington 'whiskey café' Filthy McNasty's (see p217). The living-room sized Glad - visible from Borough High Street thanks to its garish mural - has become a second home for indie-folk types the Moon Music Orchestra, and has hosted many other hip shindigs. But it works equally well as a local pub. You can simply sit at the bar with a pint of Black Sheep bitter and watch the circus unfold, although it's worth checking in advance to see whether there's anything on - otherwise you might be left wondering what the fuss is about.

Great little venue, the homemade food was really nice. a small menu but great value and friendly service. set out in a beautiful ramshakled way with table cloths and flowers and a great pint of tribute.
This is a lovely pub. Great atmosphere and full of retro types. Had pie and mash here last week and it was fantastic - although my mash was a bit cold. Saw the pub band play (along with others) the Moon Music Orchestra who are very entertaining and have a loyal following. For a tribute band they are really tight but if you haven't seen Spinal Tap you might be confused! I thought hilarious though.
Went for birthday drinks last Friday, the best pub around London Bridge / Borough I have ever been to. Better people, better music and better prices. Good work dudes.
