Time Out has teamed up with tastelondon to offer you a fantastic one month free trial
A drab 1950s council estate façade hides one of the funkiest little pubs in south London. Kitsch and cosy thanks to a wall-length beach theme, the Nelson's decor also includes figures from The Simpsons hanging upside down over the bar, original works by stencil artists Shephard Fairey and Faile, and a container-load of fairy lights. Popular with media and muso types, the heated alfresco area boasts a barbecue which gets fired up most days (winter months included) - customers are welcome to bring their own grub and use it for free. The simple, gastropub menu changes every few days, while the guest real ale changes every four days.
