Situated on a busy main road behind King Street, next to Kings Mall car park, the Stonemason's Arms does not enjoy the most tranquil of settings, but it's still very popular. The interior of this gastropub is light, clean and airy, with painted white brick walls, high ceilings, stone floors and well-spaced out wooden tables that create a rustic feel. Large mirrors and contemporary art adorn the walls. Punters are largely a young professional crowd. There's a cosmopolitan beer selection which includes London Pride, Litovel, Kirin, Hoegaarden, Leffe and Organic Honeydew, as well as Scrumpy on draught, and Boon Framboise, Boon Kriek, Franziskaner, Schneider Weisse, Fuller's Discovery, London Porter and ESB in bottles (all £3.10). Wine list choices include ten whites and nine reds, several reasonably priced.
