Situated on a busy main road behind King Street, next to Kings Mall car park, the Stonemason's Arms does not enjoy the most tranquil of settings, but it's still very popular. The interior of this gastropub is light, clean and airy, with painted white brick walls, high ceilings, stone floors and well-spaced out wooden tables that create a rustic feel. Large mirrors and contemporary art adorn the walls. Punters are largely a young professional crowd. There's a cosmopolitan beer selection which includes London Pride, Litovel, Kirin, Hoegaarden, Leffe and Organic Honeydew, as well as Scrumpy on draught, and Boon Framboise, Boon Kriek, Franziskaner, Schneider Weisse, Fuller's Discovery, London Porter and ESB in bottles (all £3.10). Wine list choices include ten whites and nine reds, several reasonably priced.

Just returned from the Stonemasons. Its a really nice pub - good choice of beer, pleasant clean environment and a great quiz. Came all the wayfrom Drham to visi. That bits not true actually visiting daughter but enjoyed the night.t
What a delight this bar is... the staff are friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and the food is OH MY Word!! The latest edition to the bar, of the leather sofas adds to the feel of the place and I found the collectors card to be an unexpected bonus.
Admittedly the prices are a little more “top end” than those of some of the bars that you would find in Kings Street – but then again, so are the cliental!
