A testament to the glories of architectural salvage, Julie's is a happy mix of various intimate rooms decorated in styles ranging from Gothic chic to Victorian conservatory. During the day it's very wholesome, populated by families and ladies-who-lunch; in the evening it's a little more louche. A user-friendly menu of brasserie dishes is priced in keeping with the postcode. The well-stocked bar can provide most drinks, including a handful of classic cocktails, but as the name suggests, the emphasis is on wine, with quite a few bottles available by the glass. Opened in 1969, the old girl has matured nicely into a local icon.
