The Windsor Castle is so cutely historic, with its set of small interconnected rooms, wood panelling and open fires, that it looks more like a film set than the hard-working local it actually is. Given that the pub could get by on looks alone, it's admirable that the food is reasonable (sausage and mash with onion gravy, steak and big chips) and the drinks varied. Ales on tap include London Pride and Timothy Taylor Landlord plus a guest beer; there are lots of lagers, and a better-than-average choice of wines. Clientele are generally as you'd expect given the postcode. One gripe - the loos could do with more care and attention. The final plus: there's a lovely garden too.

Good pub all year round.... When the sun shines the garden is the place to be near Notting Hill. Enclosed by old brick walls and huge trees, it almost gives the impression that you aren't in London. Should the weather turn bad, step inside to enjoy the classic old-styled pub, with a wide selection of lagers and ales.
absolutely top notch pub. quality food, good selection of beers, friendly staff. garden is lovely in summer too.
