In keeping with its co-occupant the Canal Café Theatre upstairs, there is an arty look and bohemian feel at this laid-back local. The crowd who drink here are mostly dressed-down, give or take the odd chiffon-scarfed student, and the staff are nicely imperturbable and unflustered. Theatrical touches include the velvet curtain concealing the toilet doors, beads hanging over some of the windows and the cabaret-style red lampshades over the bar. As well as a standard set of draught beers, including London Pride, Stella and Hoegaarden, there's a good selection of teas and coffees.
