Bars & Pubs

  • Anglesea Arms

  • Situated on pastel-perfect Wingate Road, just off the grimy Goldhawk Road, the Anglesea Arms is a west London gastro institution, with a solid turnover of well-heeled Brackenbury Village folk. The cosy main bar area is a stripped-down clutter of old wooden tables and chairs, plus a supremely comfortable pair of sofas in front of the open fire - the perfect spot to work your way through the impressive wine list. Further back is the rather cramped restaurant area, with the open kitchen to one side. The brief blackboard menu on the back wall is undeniably inventive, but prices are pretty steep and service can be slack - our side order was a no-show, despite repeated requests. There are a few covered tables at the front for summer lounging.
