The Havelock is very much a foodie pub. After a fire gutted the place a couple of years ago, it has since resurfaced pretty much intact, serving up some of the most reliable pub grub in west London, coupled with a decent selection of beers and a newly revamped wine list with a couple of fine Riojas and montepulcianos around the £15-£17 mark. If you want to eat, and you should if you can, it's best to arrive early (or late) to bag a table in the main bar area. The menu has shrunk a little in recent times but the food, chalked up on a blackboard, is as good as ever, and they now accept credit cards as well. Stand-out staples include chargrilled bavette steak and chips and deep-fried monkfish cheeks. There is a patio garden area out the back, which closes at 9.30pm.
