  • You might expect Bach to fire up the organ on entrance to this, thankfully, listed building. The lavish gilded ceiling would be more likely found in a German church than a pub in Kilburn. Once your head has tilted back to the normal position, relax into a leather sofa with a mojito (£5.50) or order a pint of John Smith's, Bombardier, Adnams or Hoegaarden from the huge bar. A former billiards room has been turned into a restaurant area, offering hearty gastro grub and great Sunday roasts. One too many? Rooms are available upstairs for £40 per person, per night, including breakfast.
