Its ghastly name sounds like an old-fashioned shop, though this is actually part of the Davy's wine chain. As a bar, Truckles is something of a one-trick pony - think summer, think terrace. In all other ways, it's completely unremarkable. Large windows wrap around a space as corporate as a hundred others; office types pour into this goldfish bowl to lunch on standard brasserie fare, then return in the evening for some post-work vino or a pint of Old Wallop. Come summer, the drinkers take over a large swathe of the Pied Bull Yard piazza to sip Davy's plonk and babble in the sunshine.
