Faversham brewery Shepherd Neame runs this rather splendid, sleek and varnished boozer on a quiet crescent near Smithfield Market. It once had a Smithfield 375 telephone number, hence the sign inside mixed in with brewery publicity and paraphernalia. The titular BF, Master Brew, Spitfire and Porter are kept company on tap by the usual SN options of Holsten Export and Oranjeboom, plus Asahi. Wines (£12-£18.50) include a Domaine de la Bouronnière Chablis, although the choice of a dozen juicy sausages attracts a more blokey, beer-quaffing clientele. There's now a laptop area in one corner and an attractive upstairs room has been recently renovated.

Visitor from Canada.
I dropped in to the pub as very close to St Paul’s Cathederal.
Friendly atmosphere with a good selection of brews.
Lunch was very reasonable considering London prices and we had the Cumberland sausage, wide variety of sausage plates to choose from.
Lovely area and as it was a sunny day we took our drinks outside and enjoyed watching the locals.
Highly recommended for lunch or for an evening drink.
