Friday nights are a scrum in this art gallery turned gastro-ish pub. Just as well it's a big, lively space, the central bar being particularly well positioned for eyeing up the rather attractive clientele (think trendy, bespectacled publishing folk and architects). The basement hosts the odd poetry reading or performance, and some popular (sometimes ferociously trendy) gigs. The tunes upstairs meanwhile can be anything from Pink Floyd to people you've never heard of. No matter, simply kick back in one of the leather sofas with a plate of fish and chips or a roast, and one of the many international beers (Kirin from Japan, Sagres from Portugal or NYC's Brooklyn).
