The froth and sediment of King's Cross street life washes past this classy DJ and cocktail bar - opened long before the area's grime-to-gloss transformation began to gather force. At the pentagonal island bar, whose shape forms the logo on the menu and in the windows, the 50-strong cocktail list includes 14 'Ruby Lounge Favourites' (£6) such as a Strawberry Nemesis of Stoli Raspberry, Bison vodka and framboise. Draught beers, Leffe and San Miguel, and reasonable merlot and shiraz wines underscore a powerful music agenda, 'fundamental to what Ruby is all about'. Resident DJs give way to live jazz every other Thursday.

Ah, I hate talking about myself. I'm a 35 year old living in london. I work weird hours so tend to party hard. I love going out, meeting friends....

I have just got home from haivng a few drinks in Ruby Lounge. It was exactly the kind of atmosphere you look for after work. The seating to comfprtable and sociable; great to sit and chat in a small group. The music was very chilled but up-beat and not too loud so we could each other!! The barmaid gave us a pint of cider instead of a larger - but she was very nice about it and changed it immediately.
I think I'll be making it the after-work local from now on!!
Admittedly not the best bar in London but definitely one of the best in the area. The interior is really quirky, the leather seats are really comfortable. The bar is an island in the middle of the floor. They offer a huge cocktail menu and make them beautifully. It is never very busy which can be good and bad - depending on my mood!! It is a great little place to have a nice drink in the evening and I genuninely do not know why more people do not go. If you are in need of a good cocktail near King's Cross this is the place!
I don't know what people are complaining about? Ruby Lounge is a versatile lounge bar. You can pop in for a quiet drink after work and sit in its nice, funky surroundings and or go at the weekend for a busier night. The staff to their jobs and are never rude. The drinks and cocktails are reasonably priced for London - what do people expect from bars these days? Sounds like some people are criticising whatever doesn't meet the Michelin star standard.
My wife and I took our friends into Ruby Lounge last weekend after having dinner around the corner.
We were surprised at how comfortable we felt in such a young bar as we were greeted by a very polite bar-lady with a lovely smile who kindly recommended a wine we would never have chosen ourselves.
Unfortunately after asking a member of staff to remove broken glass from the floor of the men’s room he went and had a cigarette and the glass was still there 45 minutes later.
