The drinks list might occasionally favour phonetics over accuracy ('cachasa' and 'julip' are two cases in point), but idiosyncratic spelling is the only area in which this slick City watering hole takes its eye off the ball. In every other respect, it's right on the money: carefully made cocktails (including some impressively freestyle offerings, such as the violet and lemongrass sour), a well-pitched wine list, plus exemplary tapas and bar snacks such as kikones (fried maize kernels). All this, and the kind of amber-hued glow (courtesy of large tawny lampshades and wood panelling) that makes even the tired and emotional look air-brushed.
