Resting in the most atmospheric of all the Square Mile's nooks and crannies, Bow Wine Vaults has seen to City thirsts for more than a quarter of a century. That decor remains low on the list of priorities only adds to its substance-over-style charm. And my, what substance. The owners take their vino seriously and should your tipple of choice fail to appear on the menu, they will happily order it in for next time. As it stands, though, the list is globetrotting enough to suit all thirsts and pockets, from Chilean merlot and cabernet sauvignon at around the £15 mark, reaching up to Amarone Classico 2000 Guerrieri Rizzardi at £65.
