  • Formerly the Balham Kitchen & Bar, Harrison's (owned by Sam Harrison of Sam's Bar & Brasserie in Chiswick) is predominantly a restaurant, with three-quarters of its space occupied by dining tables. Despite this, it remains relaxed enough for a casual drink. Grab an armchair stool at one of the high tables opposite the shiny bar for superior cocktails (kiwi and cucumber martini) or international lagers (Staropramen and Beck's Vier on tap; Asahi, Bohemia and Nova Schin are among the bottles). The interior is attractively minimalist, with retro lamp shades providing the obligatory nod to 1970s lounge chic. The daily changing menu offers classic brasserie fare such as pasta, burgers and smoked haddock fish cakes.
