Time Out has teamed up with tastelondon to offer you a fantastic one month free trial
Although the regularly changing Mediterranean dishes (pancetta and asparagus risotto, sautéed chorizo and tiger prawn salad), put the Fox & Hounds firmly in the gastro bracket, this corner pub has kept the best aspects of the traditional boozer: welcoming staff, a local crowd, a decent selection of beers on tap (London Pride, Theakston Best, Harveys Sussex Best) and an atmosphere conducive to a good, old-fashioned chat. There's also a lovely back garden, draped in greenery and amply furnished with picnic benches and outdoor heaters.

I love this pub! It's my local and the food is always fantastic, staff very friendly, nice ales and the atmosphere is great. Only exception on the food front is pudding which often disappoints, but the rest is superb.
I ate here twice on Saturday and found it disappointing.
The menu is generally fussy, the dishes I had were over-complicated and the mediterranean aspects seemed badly stitched on. Gnocchi with walnuts and Gorgonzola sauce was OK. (although they brought the wrong size portion) Lamb chops with ratatouille were a bit dry and tough, but the penne later on was reasonable. My friend's risotto was leaden.
Drinks-wise, the wine list was good, but i was surprised that my server didn't know what a whisky and ginger was. The decor was OK, although I found it stuffy and gloomy in the afternoon.
Not a complete write-off, but if I am going to spend £15 or so on a main and £7 on a pasta starter, I want food that is better than I can cook at home, and this wasn't!
