Time Out has teamed up with tastelondon to offer you a fantastic one month free trial
The Westbridge has an upmarket local boozer feel with plenty of personal touches, staff who aren't above whacking Dolly Parton on the sound system and some decent draught (Adnams, Amstel, Guinness and Edelweiss are among the choices) and bottled (Duvel, Anchor Steam) beers. Food is a strong selling point (proper fish and chips, seared tuna niçoise, sausages and mash) but decor manages to steer clear of gastro clichés. Instead of sanded wood and neutral tones, there's a blood-red ceiling, dark green semicircular bar and a hotchpotch of framed pictures clustered into one corner, among them a Billy Bragg poster and a signed print from a Gilbert and George exhibition.

The Westbridge is everything you need from an upstanding public house. The atmosphere is always warm, buzzing and full of laughter. The Bloody Mary's are a thing of beauty and, although I'm not much of a beer drinker myself, the boys always seem happy with the selection on offer. Gavin, the general manager, is an absolute hero and provides high class service with an ever cheeky smile. Finally, the Westbridge Burger, complete with melted roquefort cheese, is quite possibley the greatest hangover cure of all time. Trust me. I speak from experience. Lots.
