This tropical-inspired bar successfully spans the gap between family-friendly local and party destination. A yellow plastic teddy nestles next to the bowl of cocktail fruit on the bar, the beer garden is littered with kids' toys and there's a framed certificate for community involvement on the wall. But come 11pm, killer cocktails (the signature Mango Landin' - Wray & Nephew rum with mango and strawberry juice - is a must), a late licence and live acts see the place fill up fast. The rest of the time it's dotted with groups of regulars sharing bottles of wine over Caribbean-flavoured tapas (three bowls for £9.95) and mates acting out grudge matches on the proliferation of chessboards. Don't be put off by the location, this is a Brixton must.
