Bars & Pubs

  • White House

  • The overhaul in spring 2007 is still looking remarkably fresh, considering the hammering it receives from the hedonistic and mobbed parties that frequent this hugely popular Clapham bar. From top down, it's gorgeous, modern and worth a visit. Best bit? The large roof terrace with sweeping lengths of wood and full sun nearly the whole day, which sees tanned types lounging their way through the cocktail menu in warmer months. The main bar with its long banquette seating and sunken area sees plenty of house nights from local DJs and Antipodean breaks and D&B parties. The members' lounge - all flocked wallpaper, own kitchen and loos - is available to hire. The short food menu is reasonably priced and offers mostly South-east Asian fare.

Nice place but a abit pricey .... would definitely recommend booking though - which is a little easier said then done as no one ever seems to answer the phones and they dont seem to be able to take online bookings which in this day and age seems ludicrous to me!
Still, good time had .... but when in a big group of 4+, if you cant book I would really think about finding somewhere else that puts its customers first.

I booked the sunken area on Friday for the Licked party and just wanted to say to the team at The White House..."Thank You soo much for a great nite!" The music was great, the venue was perfect and staff were really cool..Thank you cant wait for the nxt party!!

Had a great night at the white house... music was good, set the mood amazingly. in regards to the overpriced drinks, it reflected the level of clientele (in comparison to infernos) so we were all happy to pay a little extra, also the cocktail list is great....creative and delicious.
Door staffs were friendly, which is very rare these days. I hate walking into a club in a bad mood because of the rude door staff, but here it certainly not the case. They are all up for a bit of banter.
In short, we had an all round great night. Looking forward to going back.
