Time Out has teamed up with tastelondon to offer you a fantastic one month free trial
Popular with employees from South Bank media offices, this bustling corner pub has big windows looking onto the short cut to Waterloo station. As well as several wheat beers on tap (including Weissbrau and Maredsous), there are three real ales, three draught ciders (one of which is Weston's hefty Organic Vintage) and several draught wines to keep a lively crowd refreshed day and night. A few tables outside provide welcome relief from the jolly crush within.

As the comments below say, the bar staff here aren't the best in the world, but I would say not to let these reviews put you off. Think of all the people who have been here and had no problems, and just haven't come here to comment.
I lived on the same road as the White Hart for a year, and can say that while it is always busy, the choice of beers and atmosphere are enough to make up for the lacklustre service.
I have just had the worst experience at this pub tonight which has made me post my review here. I visted this pub with 4 other friends and ordered food. They only brought out 4 dishes and the waitress disappeared for 15 minutes before she informed my friend that they had forgotten to cook it but they couldn't do anyting about it as the kitchen was now closed and the chef had gone home and they had run out of the dish he ordered. They didn't apologise or offer any sort of compensation. After a couple of mouthfuls I realised that my dish was not the veggie burger i ordered but beef which i do not eat. Mistakes can happen but the reaction I got and the attitude I got from the staff has really upset me and I hope someone speaks to the staff about customer service standards. They should consider the consequences had I been allergic but they just didn't seem to care!!
We decided to eat in this pub as it was one of the closest ones to Waterloo Station. We were there on a busy Saturday lunch time after just arriving into London. Contrary to other reviews we found the bar staff fine, we ordered food there and it did take a little while (30-40 mins) to arrive but we weren't in much of a hurry that day. We found the quality of the food to be good and the menu choice varied. From our experience it was definately a good place to go for a pint and an afternoon snack, but possibly for more of a lazy weekend lunch than a mid week quick bite.
London's worst service? Quite possibly. The barstaff are rude, disinterested and treat customers like they're an irritant. A guy next to me who ordered a speciality cider was asked to order another because, as the idiot barman explained: 'it's really fizzy, difficult to pour and I really can't be arsed'. No idea what the food is like as we didn't stay around long enough to try it. We tried to order their burger but didn't want the mushroom which came with it. 'Not possible' we were told, if the menu says it comes with a flat mushroom, you have to have it. The pub claims it prepares food on the premises to order, but either this is a lie or, as is more likely having experience the bar staff, they simply don't give too hoots for customers, who only serve to interrupt the barstaffs evening gossip. If you're thinking of drinking in Waterloo, please visit Auberge, for a lively atmosphere, or the Kings Arms for friendly service. This place is an ordinary pub, only marked out by truly appallin service. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Utterly dreadful service. Customers left waiting for 15 minutes while the staff stand around and chat. With places nearby who actually offer a bit of decent service in return for your money I will not be going back here again.
