High red ceilings, pale walls and huge windows give Landseer a fresh, spacious feel. The style is classic gastropub: plain wood tables, leather sofas, and a smarter dining area at the back. The food is fairly ambitious (the same menu is also served in the bar room), with global touches as in cajun tuna steak with tuscan bean salad; there are good tapas and bar snacks for the merely peckish. The selection of cask ales (Adnams, Timothy Taylor) is complemented by posh lagers (Leffe, Hoegaarden); wines are varied but a bit pricey, starting at £12.75.

This is a fantastic find in the backstreets of Holloway. In a quiet residential road it is full of hip, young things and trendy young familites. Old-school wooden chairs and long tables mixed with very comfy leather sofas in the main bar area and then step through into the bright and airy restaurant area. Lots of board games to play. The staff are so friendly and upbeat and there is NEVER a queue at the bar. Food is a choice between a full menu of staple pubgrub (all of which is delicious) or Tapas off the blackboard. The tapas is fresh tasty and big portions, all of which is very reasonably priced. Perfect for a chilled out lazy Sunday afternoon.
