  • An understated oasis of Zen-like calm named after the Hungarian composer, Bartok was founded on a fondness for classical music, but more often than not has DJs spinning chill-out tunes of the electronic variety. The red walls are enlivened by arty configurations of modern light bars and a framed LCD fish tank; seating comes in the form of chocolate leather couches and a smattering of cubic pouffes - hardly the place to rock out, which means Bartok is mercifully free of goths and gearheads. Instead, there are couples ignoring the bog-standard beers and sipping cheap cocktails while - miracle! - actually hearing each other speak.
