Filling the space left by the Warwick in laid-back Latino style, Barrio North's funky, New Yorican vibe is going down a storm. Despite clean lines and hard surfaces (graffiti art breeze blocks, tiles galore), there's a warm glow about the place, intensified by the attentive staff (rarely have we seen such care lavished on a virgin mary), Latin rhythms, gaudy bunting and flatteringly low lighting. The best seat in the house has to be the fairy-lit caravan up on the mezzanine at the back; it's the perfect vantage point at which to kick back with a bottle of Brahma and a platter of nachos (£6) and watch the night unfold.
