  • Tucked away down a Barnsbury backstreet, this ivy clad boozer oozes authenticity. The jumble sale decor is the antithesis of the anodyne gastropub, with stuffed mallards, Greek statues, pewter mugs and various antique curiosities hanging from the ceiling. Good-humoured locals rub shoulders with young professionals drawn by the atmosphere, beer on tap (Adnams, Broadside, Brakspear, Deuchars IPA and Kronenbourg Blanc) and Premier League football. There's a quiz on Thursday nights, live music and reasonably priced roasts on Sunday and Thai food in the evenings.
