Its late 1990s glory days may be a hazy memory, but Medicine is looking good for its age. Perspex lampshades hang over a long bar twinkling with fairy lights, from which good cocktails (apple martinis, bloody marys, £6.50) and pints of Kronenbourg Blanc and San Miguel are served. At the back, sofas and boho wallpaper combine to make a prime spot for weekend lounging, and two cosy chill-out rooms upstairs have 'party' written all over them. A huge Muhammad Ali picture takes pride of place behind the elevated DJ booth, which still rules the roost most nights of the week.
