The Old Queen's Head has been packing them in since its 2006 relaunch, and there's no sign of things slowing. We're talking huge queues at the weekends and wall-to-wall skinny-jeaned hipsters, lured by the good DJ roster (the likes of Freestylers, Eno and Mr Thing). With two floors and outside seating front and back, there's plenty of room - though if you're hoping to bag a seat on a weekend night, you've missed the point entirely. Saturdays are for dancing, minor league celeb-spotting and chatting up the bar staff. Come during the week to sample the cocktails (there are great deals on Mondays) and lounge on the battered sofas.

Why not? Perhaps because I'm entertaining, relatively sane, and have an interesting job. Which is, by the way, a freelance musician, mostly in...
I went to The Old Queens Head last weekend. I was a tad annoyed when i first arrived because the que was pretty huge but thought that I would give it the wait because I had heard many good things about the pub. After a pretty swift que time I got into the completely rammed pub, to the point where you could barely move but after grabbing a drink I made a move upstairs to the club where it was also rammed - the music was ace and it was really kicking off. A few more drinks down the line and it was 2am before i knew it! I will defo be visiting again.
