Time Out has teamed up with tastelondon to offer you a fantastic one month free trial
The Old Queen's Head has been packing them in since its 2006 relaunch, and there's no sign of things slowing. We're talking huge queues at the weekends and wall-to-wall skinny-jeaned hipsters, lured by the good DJ roster (the likes of Freestylers, Eno and Mr Thing). With two floors and outside seating front and back, there's plenty of room - though if you're hoping to bag a seat on a weekend night, you've missed the point entirely. Saturdays are for dancing, minor league celeb-spotting and chatting up the bar staff. Come during the week to sample the cocktails (there are great deals on Mondays) and lounge on the battered sofas.

went to the quiz at the old queens head last night (tues) and it was a right laugh! we got pretty wasted due to high volumes of free booze!! (not complaining) we lost...but who cares?! had a lot of fun in the process!!
A great place in north London for Sunday Roasts. My roast beef was was absolutely delicious. The music was relaxing and we had a great time. What a great way to end a tiring week and begin another. Have also heard they have function rooms for hire, would love to hear if anyone has actually hired them and their reviews. Looking forward to hearing your reviews.
I was at the Old Queens head last Tuesday and participated in the pub quiz. The quiz master was hilarious - in a cheesy sort of way - but we nevertheless had loads of fun. Will recommend it and will be back for more!
Had some great nights here, really cool djs and night held all week. Food is good
defo be back soon
Great indie/alternative pub and club which is very cool without being pretentious - very much recommended! I'll be visiting again soon.
Amazing pub, really friendly.
Great dj's at the weekend!!
I had an absolutely amazing time here on New Years Day at the Bugged Out Allday. The music was brilliant with some blindin sets from some unbelievable big names like Erol Alkan, Mylo, Tayo and Johnno. The place was ecstatic, I don't know where people get their energy from. And I must say fair play to the staff, they were extremely happy and friendly considering the amount pressure they were under. Big up the Old Queens Head, they certainly know how to pull it out the bag.
i went to the Old Queens Head last Monday to an acoustic music night upstairs in a great room that was packed , the music was wonderful and saw a new star in a young guy called Simon Williams , so will be going back soon
i think he is on myspace
It was our first night out in Islington and a friend recommended The Old Queens Head, I wasn't bothered about where we went untli I heard that James Lavelle was DJ'ing, I couldn't believe it and simply had to check it out. When we arrived there was a big que to get in which was a little annoying but once we got inside the atmosphere was electric and we all had an amazing time. The only problem inside was that it was very busy and there weren't many empty seats to sit at but we made up for it with extra dancing. Upstairs James Lavelle was on top form and to see him in such an intimate setting was a real treat. We will definately be going back to party there again.
I never really intended to end up at The Old Queens Head but i ended up in there last sunday to get a roast because eveywhere else in angel had run out. There was live music upstaris and we ended up staying until closing drinking loads of cheap rum - my new local even if i am from South London!
