The smell of the open fire, crockery-lined shelves and lamplit corners all foster a homely feel, as does the fireside couch area, separate dining room and tasteful decor. The attractive garden is a fantastic place for a pint in the summer; the wide drinks selection includes German lagers, Meantime and Bitburger, and there's an excellent wine list. Frequented mainly by locals, the place strikes a nice balance between friendly local and good dining pub; it's worth making a trip to Tufnell Park just for this.
