This cavernous corner pub is a cracking space. Lofty ceiling, and full-length windows make it ideal for a bright and breezy weekend lunch, and come the evenings, bare bulbs and fairy lights are turned down low as the broad wooden tables fill up with well-heeled locals. Watched over by three deer (above the open fireplace) and a ram (above the bar), fine gastro servings like grilled chicken with mashed swede are served alongside Timothy Taylor Landlord, London Pride or the current guest ale. Acoustic open-mic sessions liven up Thursday evenings, and there's a jukebox too.
