Bars & Pubs

  • Alma

  • Stunning bay windows dominate the front bar of this relaxed and friendly foodie pub. On hazy afternoons, light pours through them on to the mismatched leather sofas, chairs and tables that are scattered about the place. Further back are darker, welcoming snugs, a small courtyard garden, and fittingly (it is still a pub after all), an upright piano. Couples flip through the left-leaning Sunday papers before tucking into a seasonal menu of Modern British fare (kedgeree with curried onion, £8.50, for example). Red Stripe, Bombardier, Hoegaarden, Guinness and Amstel are on tap, with four or five red and white wines available by the glass.
