Hidden away down an alley a stone's throw from Earl's Court tube, this is a justly popular local. A sleek black-stone exterior hides an equally sleek interior: a buzzy, low-ceilinged space scattered with chesterfields and overseen by a beautiful old chandelier. A little alcove with vintage wallpaper provides a retro complement to the generally rather modern vibe. On the far side of the horseshoe bar, a smaller area offers views over a pretty little square. Only the Adnams was 'on' when we were last in, but you can usually expect the likes of Timothy Taylor, as well as continental beers such as Paulaner and Früli. Reliable bar grub ranges from wasabi snacks to top-notch sausages.

Just a content girl happy to meet new people that will add to happiness not replace it. Some people call me fussy but I find I'd rather be single...
