The Big Chill dishes up drinks and dance music in a setting relaxed enough to take in all-comers, from straggly kids to grey-haired know-betters. A bull's head with huge horns stares out the DJ across the loungey front area, before the busy bar recedes into the large main room and its overwhelmed chandelier. People squeeze up around shared tables, stand about yacking or fight their way on to the covered front terrace to smoke - even the large open-air courtyard is full to bursting come summer. Refinement isn't the point, but the £6.50 cocktails are respectable and bottles like Duvel make up for weak draught options.

If you're not into over enthusiastic people then move on! I like being positive about life and focus on the things that I like rather than whinging...
